Cold CASE: FBI In PA Investigating 'Baby Jane Doe' Found In NJ Dumpster

The Federal Bureau of Investigation in Philadelphia and police in Gloucester County, New Jersey are investigating a case involving a "Baby Jane Doe" found on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 4, 1986, according to the release.

She was found inside a silver, plastic trash bag in a dumpster behind the shopping center at Ganttown Road and Route 42 in Washington Township, New Jersey, the FBI said. Inside the trash bag, she was wrapped in a beach towel depicting an African plains scene.

The girl was white, weighed about 7 pounds, and had dark hair and brown eyes, according to the FBI. 

Her death was ruled a homicide by asphyxiation, the FBI said.

"Though it has been almost 40 years, we are hoping this poster jogs someone’s memory, that someone who might have information comes forward," Special Agent Wayne A. Jacobs, of the FBI in Philadelphia said. "This case demonstrates no matter how much time passes we continue to pursue justice for victims."
